How to hide columns in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to hide columns in Google Sheet. To hide a single or multiple columns just select the respective columns you would like to hide and then right click and choose the option ‘Hide Columns’.

In below google sheet we have selected columns A to D to hide.

See below, the first four columns of the google sheet have been hidden now.

How to unhide columns in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to unhide columns in Google Sheet. Now in our Google sheet let’s unhide the columns A to D. The first process to do that is to select the columns before or after the hidden columns and then right click. If you are able to find the option as ‘Unhide Columns’ then click the same.

Now let’s learn another process of unhiding columns. This time we have hidden the columns E to G. Now as you can see below there are left and right direction symbols in the columns D & H adjacent to the hidden columns.

Click any of the left or right arrow icons shown above. The hidden columns will be back.

How to hide rows in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to hide rows in Google Sheet. To hide a single or multiple rows just select the respective columns you would like to hide and then right click and choose the option “Hide Rows”.

In below google sheet we have selected rows 4 to 8 to hide.

See below, rows 4-8 of the google sheet have been hidden now.

How to unhide rows in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to unhide rows in Google Sheet. Now in our Google sheet let’s unhide the rows 4 to 8. The first process to do that is to select the rows before or after the hidden rows and then right click. If you are able to find the option as ‘Unhide Rows’ then click the same.

Now let’s learn another process of unhiding rows. This time we have again hidden the rows 4-8. Now as you can see below there are up and down direction symbols in the rows 3 & 9 adjacent to the hidden rows.

Click any of the up or down arrow icons shown above. The hidden rows will be back.

How to hide sheet in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to hide a sheet in Google Sheet. Let’s say in our Google sheet file we would like to hide a particular sheet(Sheet12). Right click on the sheet name and then select ‘Hide Sheet’.

As you can see below the Sheet12 has been hidden now.

How to unhide sheet in Google Sheet

In this lesson we will learn how to unhide a sheet in Google Sheet. Here the Sheet12 is hidden now. To unhide the same first click the ‘All Sheets’ icon to the down left corner of the Google Sheet just beside plus(+) symbol.

There you will find the hidden sheet displayed in the list but faded as follows.

Click on the hidden sheet in the list of all sheets. Then the Sheet will reappear at its original place.

Another way of unhiding sheet is to go to the ‘View’ menu of the Google sheet. If any sheet is hidden then you will find there an option as ‘Hidden Sheets’. Navigate to that and the list of Hidden sheets will come up. Click on the sheets you want to unhide.
