The DAYS function returns the number of days between 2 dates in both Excel & Google Sheet.
=DAYS (end_date, start_date)
- end_date – This argument denotes the end date either provided directly within double quotes or by cell reference.
- start_date – This argument denotes the start date either provided directly within double quotes or by cell reference.
In below example, we have used DAYS function to calculate the number of days between 2 dates provided as direct arguments. Note that the first argument is lesser than the second one which caused the number of days returned in negative.
In below example, the arguments we passed in DAYS function as cell reference. Note here, the first argument which is cell A2 contains the date greater than the second argument which is the cell B2. This results the number of days as positive in cell C2.
